Impact Sound Absorbing Mats and foams
When impact sound is the only problem impact absorbing mats will often solve the noise problems. We stock a a number of impact absorbing mats and foams that can be used as an underlayer beneath the carpet.
These mats can be used as underlay for various floor types including hard flooring. Generally the thicker the mat the higher the impact sound reduction.
Rubber mats can act to reduce airborne sound transmission and impact transmission without the need for lifting up floor boards. Our acoustic matting products may give up to 5 db of airborne acoustic uplift, but generally they are meant for impact noise reduction only. Acoustic mats will benefit those downstairs, they are good at absorbing impact sound, and may stop complaints from neighbours due to impact noise.
